Windows Vista: When this error occurs, turn the scanner off and then back on again to reset it. If the problem persists, try scanning in Home or Professional Mode.
Also, make sure the Start Button is selected in the Scanner events list box, and the desired application is selected in the Send to this application list.
Restart Epson Scan and try scanning again. Use the Mac OS X interface instead. The Scanner Does Not Scan Wait until the status light turns green to indicate that the scanner is ready to scan.

Make sure your Windows system is set up for scanner events as follows. Check to see if your computer system meets the requirements for the scanner interface you are using. Epson Scan may not be able to detect certain types of images, or may crop or group the images unexpectedly.
A USB cable is not bundled with the scanner in some areas. Mac OS X: See Removing the Document Mat for instructions. Windows Vista and XP: Reinstall Epson Scan by following the instructions in your Start Here sheet.
Windows XP and 2000: Turn off your computer and scanner, then check the USB cable connection between them to make sure it is secure. If the scanner appears with one of these marks or as an Unknown device , uninstall Epson Scan as described in Uninstalling Epson Scan. Make sure that Epson Scan is selected in your scanning program. Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it.
